“We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.” Hebrews 6:19

The dream

During a morning of meditation on the beach, I received a vision of the Lord's hand firmly gripping the top of a great anchor while the heavy chain rested across His hand before descending to the anchor below. The image spoke without words. I understood that true hope is not something I hold onto by my own strength: my hope is held securely by God Himself.

The revelation

This Sign revealed that hope is steadfast because its foundation is not found in changing circumstances, but in the unchanging faithfulness of God. Even in seasons of grief, loss, uncertainty, and waiting, His hand remains firmly upon the anchor of my soul. This vision became a reminder that I am held, sustained, and never abandoned.

The symbol

The anchor represents hope that is immovable because it is secured in God's promises. When the storms of life arise, I can rest in the certainty that He is holding me steady. My hope is not in the storm passing, but in the One who holds the anchor.

The curator's reflection

Every journey represented within A Sign of Hope begins here. The anchor is more than a symbol of stability: it is a declaration that hope endures because it rests in God's faithful hand. This Sign stands at the entrance of the collection as an invitation to every visitor: whatever storms you have faced, hope can still hold.
